Facebook – A Social (networking) Experiment

There are over 300 million active members on the Social Networking Site, Facebook.  On average, each of these members has 130 friends on their account….But what happens when someone sets up a fake account, say under the name “Colin Alfodder” – (Calling All Fodder – geddit??)  And what happens if you add in a layer that means Colin Alfodder only requests friends whose name is related to types of food?  And what happens, if those types of food are graphed according to the five basic food groups:

  • Fruit & Vegetables
  • Meat, Fish & Pulses
  • Sugary & Fatty Foods
  • Milk & Dairy Products
  • Bread, Rice & Starchy Foods

Well, here at Best Medicine, we wanted to find out.  So we did it.  Turns out, the most receptive Facebook Food -Related Surname group is Fruit and Veg.  Umm, so that’s it. ….we’ll get our coats.

Next step – updating Colin’s facebook status to break the news to his  ‘Friends’.
